Louis Vuitton bag animal zoo goes on show in Wuhan

A giant panda sculpture made from 74 Louis Vuitton handbags and other accessories from the fashion brand is on display at the Wuhan International Plaza in the capital of central China's Hubei province. The work is by British artist Billie Achilleos and there are other animals made of the luxury bags, reports the local Hubei Daily.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the company's SLG Savoir Faire bag collection, Louis Vuitton and the artist created a special "zoo" at the plaza with 23 animals made of LV handbags including a panda, pangolin and iguana. The exhibition runs from May 31 to June 23.

A LV branch opened at the plaza on 30, signaling a second wave of international luxury brands to expand their presence in Wuhan. Other brands including Prada and Fendi will open new stores in the city next year. Hermes opened a store in the city last October.
Over 1,000 international luxury brands have outlets in Wuhan, making the city the best shopping mall for luxury goods in China, says the president of Wushang Group, one of the largest retailers in the city.
